Rainware – An one man indie Game Developer studio. Founded and driven by myself, Thorben Rackow, from Stade (Germany). I develop and publish PC – Games as well as games for smartphones and tablets. To achieve this I use programming languages such as C# and Java used in Unity3d and libGDX.

I am a professional software developer since 2007. My career started at the game publisher and creator Innogames GmbH as a trainee. I had the opportunity to get a good insight in very many different departments and was able to generate a good knowledge about the gaming industry. At the moment I try to manage all by myself this means I am the developer, game designer, level designer and marketing manager. For graphic and sound assets I have some external help.
Since 2017 I rent an office at the GiS-Stade. This is a building especially for startups. Here I spent my time and develop the next game ideas.
What type of games can we expect?
I use libGDX and Unity as technology for my games, expect them to be released at least on the AppStore and Google Play Store. I have a strong focus on PC gaming as well, so I try to get on steam or other distribution channels for PC games. In general I am not limited to any genre, style or platform. The games are pretty simple right now, but I try to achieve a very high quality. Already released titles are: Timbertales, a round based strategy title in an epic nature theme and FlatFatCat – A casual funny cat game.
Why do we need another Indie Game studio?
As a core gamer, I dislike the current trend of mobile games. Smartphones and tablets adding a new feeling to games. Unfortunately most of them are very casual, boring or cost a lot of money. My vision: Engage core gamer on mobile devices.
